DULEINA: una iniciativa para rescatar la medicina tradicional Guna y la conservacion sostenible de los recursos naturales(DULEINA: an initiative to rescue the Guna traditional medicine and sustainable conservation of natural resources)

Abstract

La cultura Guna por miles de anos ha hecho uso de las plantas para las actividades basicas de la vida, como son: medicina, alimento y construccion de sus viviendas. La medicina tradicional Guna con plantas medicinales es parte de la identidad de la cultura Guna, aunque siempre ha sido asi, actualmente el conocimiento de la medicina tradicional con plantas esta mermando, ya que las generaciones actuales no estan interesadas en darle continuidad a esta herencia cultural. Es por eso que el objetivo de este estudio que se desarrollo del 25 de mayo a diciembre de 2019 en la Zona Cultural del Area Silvestre (protegida) del Corregimiento de Nargana (40 has) mediante la iniciativa DULEINA (medicina tradicional Guna con plantas medicinales); consistio en rescatar el conocimiento de la medicina tradicional con mayor enfasis en los jovenes, quienes son el futuro de la cultura Guna. Usando un enfoque cualitativo desarrollando dialogos participativos con una muestra No Probabilistica con personas clave (dirigentes, medicos gunas, jovenes y mujeres de la Comarca Guna Yala. Ademas, los medicos botanicos, mediante el desarrollo de talleres, capacitaron a los jovenes sobre conocimientos y saberes de la medicina tradicional, conservacion de los recursos naturales, entre otros. Esta metodologia dio como resultado la construccion del Centro de Formacion y Aprendizaje, el Centro para Atencion a los enfermos y la concientizacion en la proteccion y conservacion de 40 hectareas de bosque que son importantes para mantener la diversidad de especies de plantas medicinales nativas del sitio.
