Abstract

Las Pequenas y medianas empresas (Pymes) dedicadas al transporte y distribucion de Frutas y Hortalizas en la provincia de Chiriqui, Republica de Panama tienen un papel preponderante en la mejora de la cadena de suministro de alimentos frescos, siendo esta region el centro de mayor produccion agricola de todo el pais, responsables del mayor porcentaje de abastecimiento de alimentos. Las Pymes tienen un rol fundamental para la seguridad alimentaria y la economia local a pesar de que enfrentan grandes desafios logisticos. El proposito de este estudio es identificar y mejorar sus indicadores logisticos y procesos de transporte y distribucion, brindando herramientas para optimizar la eficiencia y contribuir al desarrollo sostenible. Esto responde a la necesidad de adaptarse a la globalizacion y tecnologia en el sector agroalimentario. La metodologia empleada sera cualitativa y descriptiva, incluyendo encuestas realizadas a 35 personas involucradas en las operaciones del transporte y distribucion de frutas y hortalizas en la region de Tierras Altas en Chiriqui. El analisis de datos resultante permitira comprender los desafios logisticos y ofrecer recomendaciones concretas. Este estudio es una contribucion clave para mejorar la seguridad alimentaria, impulsar la economia local y promover el desarrollo sostenible en Chiriqui, beneficiando a las Pymes y la sociedad en general.
