Abstract

The main objective of this study is to examine the moderating role ethical climate (ECL) on relationship between employee resilience(ER), personality trait (PT) and employee commitment (EC). Data were collected from hospitals in Bahawalpur using cross sectional study design. The study adopted simple random sampling and 550 questionnaires were distributed and collected through the self-administered method. SPSS and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) were used to test the study hypotheses. The frame work of the present study was based on social exchange theory. This study finds that ER, PT and ECL are important variable for the employee commitment in health sector. The finding shows that ER, PT and ECL have significant relationship with employee commitment. Furthermore, ethical climate does not have significant effect on the path of ER and employee commitment and PT and employee commitment. The findings of this study provide important insight to the administration, policy makers and practitioner to further understand the effect of different variable on the employee commitment. The present study has also suggested some theoretical and practical contribution.
