Finanzas, Calidad Institucional Y Crecimiento (1961-2005)

Abstract

Este trabajo procura contribuir al debate sobre la relación entre desarrollo financiero y crecimiento económico mediante el análisis de un nuevo conjunto de datos con mayor cobertura temporal y de países que los utilizados en estudios anteriores, además de considerar la inclusión de variables de control adicionales como la calidad institucional y la tasa de inversión. Los resultados demuestran que el desarrollo financiero no tiene un efecto positivo y estadísticamente significativo sobre el crecimiento económico. Tampoco lo tiene la calidad institucional en su dimensión política, pero los modelos estimados no han permitido alcanzar resultados concluyentes respecto al efecto de la dimensión económica de la misma.
