Contratos Temporales Y Ciclo Económico

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo consiste en analizar el comportamiento de las empresas en lo referido a las contrataciones y despidos de trabajadores según el tipo de contrato (fijo o temporal) a lo largo del ciclo económico. Para ello, se utiliza la información procedente de la Encuesta de Coyuntura Laboral correspondiente al periodo 1999-2010. Los resultados muestran que las proporciones de altas y bajas de trabajadores temporales tienen, en general, un comportamiento contracíclico: crecen en los periodos de crisis (cuando se reduce el PIB y aumenta la tasa de paro) y caen en los de auge (cuando aumenta el PIB y disminuye la tasa de paro).
