El método hipotético-deductivo como legado del positivismo lógico y el racionalismo crítico: su influencia en la economía

Abstract

El presente trabajo es un intento por identificar el legado deductivista (arraigado en el Círculo de Viena y en el pensamiento de Karl Popper) en la metodología de la economía positiva. Con este afán, se realiza una breve reseña del empirismo científico y del método inductivo para luego ahondar en el aporte del positivismo lógico y el racionalismo critico. Posteriormente, se pasa revista sobre las principales críticas a estos enfoques y se realiza un cuidadoso análisis de la función de los modelos en la economía, para terminar con algunas reflexiones sobre el desarrollo de la econometría como método de contrastación empírica, en donde se hace especial mención al aporte realizado por la Comisión Cowles.
