Especialización, integración y flexibilización: El caso de la región vitivinícola en Baja California Norte

Abstract

En el presente artículo, se pretende explicar cómo la industria vitivinícola en Baja California Norte aprovechando sus ventajas competitivas (histórica vocación vinícola, su ubicación geográfica, un permanente aprendizaje en al arte de hacer vinos, la optimización tanto de los escasos recursos naturales, como humanos con los que cuenta y su alta capacidad para adaptarse rápidamente a los cambios tecnológicos y organizacionales requeridos en las distintas épocas por los mercados tanto nacionales como internacionales) ha hecho que actualmente esta región se distinga como la principal zona productora de uva para vinos de mesa de alta calidad en México. Con un futuro que puede presentarse azaroso y ante las nuevas señales de los mercados, la industria ha provocado que cada vez más inversiones vitivinícolas se establezcan en la región, generándose con un mayor potencial como región especializada en la producción vitivinícola.
