Educación y sociedad. La perspectiva de Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Abstract

La influencia de las ideas de Jean-Jacques Rousseau, puede ser encontrada desde que sus libros fueron leídos por primera vez en el siglo XVIII, y sus ideas están presentes en los protagonistas principales de grandes acontecimientos sociales para la humanidad, como la Revolución Francesa de 1789 y, particularmente en México, la guerra de independencia. La creación de pueblos y naciones y su desarrollo es una de las principales preocupaciones desde tiempos inmemoriales. Para Rousseau, la educación tiene un lugar fundamental en estos procesos. A ésta la entiende como formación, ya que la base es dada por la naturaleza de los hombres, y sí nos atenemos a esa base, podremos lograr la mejor sociedad para cada individuo, un ideal que aún no pierde vigencia; el desviar el proceso de conformación social de esa base puede llevar a sociedades represoras, negativas para todos.
