Efectos de vecindario y crimenes violentos en el area metropolitana de Monterrey

Abstract

El analisis de la presente investigacion emplea un modelo probabilistico de eleccion discreta para relacionar las caracteristicas individuales y locales del vecindario con la propension a ser violento para los presuntos delincuentes arrestados en el Area Metropolitana de Monterrey durante los anos 2005 y 2010. Empleando varias fuentes de informacion se formo una base de datos donde los presuntos criminales son la unidad de analisis. Los resultados muestran que las caracteristicas de vecindario, como el grado promedio de escolaridad y las instalaciones deportivas reducen la propension del delincuente a ser violento.
