Margens do Comércio e Gerações de Empresas no Comércio Internacional Português

Abstract

Este artigo avalia o contributo das margens intensiva e extensiva nas dimensões da empresa, destino e produto para as variações anuais das exportações e importações anuais de bens na economia portuguesa. Adicionalmente, comparam-se as diferentes gerações de empresas que operam no comércio internacional em termos de número e fluxos de comércio. O horizonte temporal alargado considerado no artigo torna possível observar o impacto de dois episódios importantes: o grande colapso do comércio internacional em 2008-2009 e o Programa de Ajustamento Económico e Financeiro (PAEF) que se iniciou em 2011 e que se manteve até meados de 2014. A análise baseia-se numa base de dados detalhada das transações internacionais na economia portuguesa no período 1995-2015.
