Abstract

[eng] This paper argues that after its "decline" observed fifteen years ago, development economics is presently developing again. The paper offers a critical examination of the scope and specificity of development economics, underlying its links with the analysis of poverty, market failures and risk. Some of the ideological biaises and semantical confusion which have affected development economics in the past are considered. Then the perspectives and needs of development economics are presented. [fre] Cet article suggère qu'au déclin de l'économie du développement, diagnostiqué il y a quinze ans, a succédé un renouveau. Il s'interroge sur la nature de l'économie du développement et indique ses liens avec l'analyse des situations de pauvreté, des défaillances de marché et de risque. Il examine les travers idéologiques et les confusions sémantiques qui ont affaibli naguère l'économie du développement, puis évoque ses perspectives et enjeux actuels.
