Abstract

[eng] In this paper, we prove that it is relevant on a theoretical basis, to use individual discount rates in order to better understand saving behaviors, and to measure wealth inequalities, rather than the usual pratice of retaining a unique rate. The theoretical scheme is fisherian, with extensions to uncertainty and imperfect markets. The analysis leads to distinguish the pure positive time preference and the rates reflecting the specific horizons.
