Abstract

[eng] The thorough and systematic study about the influence of economic variables on the fecondity has been really developed in connexion with industrial countries. This article presents the principal theories on this matter (Easterlin hypothesis, demographic implosion, new home economics); so it is possible to point out interpretation elements of the observed demographic situation (contraceptive revolution, singular family model, increase of the female activity). That permits to indicate what the adequate economic policy in this field might be and introduce some methodological suggestions.
