Abstract

[eng] Mimetism : a simple theoretical model and an application to the term structure of interest rates. . Unsufficient information, or the way markets are organized, the way the different participants interreact when they choose their positions, can lead to a mimetic behaviour, with a too high proportion of market participants taking the same and possibly wrong decision. We describe several simple theoretical models describing such situations and exa- mine if the way long term interest rates are formed in large countries reveals the presence of mimetic behaviour.
