Abstract
[fre] Le temps de consommation, variable économique?. . [eng] Is consumption time span a macro-economic variable ? . . After the research work done by Human capital theoreticians, one can no longer doubt that, at the individual level, consumption time span is an active variable ; but it does not follow that it should be one as well, at the level of global analyste. Yet, many economic models reference to social optimization and collective wellfare should lead to the use of global consumption time span in macroeconomics. In the first place, one should reformulate the Keynesian concept of consumption. Consumption must be considered as the resuit of time and goods. The consumption function explains but one side this of this phenomenon. There is also a production function of consumption that raises, among other things, substitution problems.. Finally, the modification of this concept leads to new global equilibrium conditions.. It becomes necessary then, to think in terms of groups and conflicts between groups.
