Abstract

[eng] A comparative survey and appreciation of F. Quesnay, A. Smith and K. Marx's definitions of productive labor. . Assessing the definitions of productive labor in F. Quesnay, A. Smith and K. Marx's Works in raising the following questions : 1° How many définitions were proposed by each author ? What did they actually mean ? Are the selected examples adequate ? 2° Are several definitions by the same author compatible ? More generatty, are these definitions in keeping with the author's theory as a whole ? The article shows!- that none of the above mentioned theoreticians meet the test of internal consistency. Eventually one will attempt to scrutinize the author's purposes.
