Abstract

[eng] R-D expenditures, innovation and international trade . . In this paper, we reexamine the effect of R-D expenditures on international trade. In the first section we try to find a more appropriate empirical measure of the variable R-D in the functional relation between R-D and exportations. In the second section we test the corrélation existing between this new empirical measure and the comparative advantage of a country. To take account simultaneously of the effect of technological innovation and other factors explaining international trade, in a third section, we estimate a complete model of exporations.
