Abstract

[eng] The aim of the article is to describe and assess the forecasting of employment distribution according to branch and professional category by means of international comparisons and the following hypothesis is considered : any given labour productivity level, taken to correspond to the actual state of technical knowledge, is accompanied by a well-determined and unique employment structure (professional distribution). The introduction deals with the material on which the study is based. The main body of the article deals in succession with the theoretical process on which the method is founded, the statistical checking of this process, the possible application of fidings, and the theoretical criticism to which the method may be subject, wit an attempt to ascertain under what conditions and within what limits it may continue to be used. Te possible value of empirical testing of the method is suggested in a post-script.
