Abstract

[eng] An historical data source suitable for locale use : printed records about the French Revolution. . Rural studies make a constant use of local history publications. Eventually, that production is unevenly reliable, especially when concerned with conflictual periods, often crucial for the shapening of social consciousness. In the case of French Revolution a method of re-evaluation is proposed for historical local references, based on classical nation-wide publications indexes. Such collections, scarcely used by non-historians, are listed and presented in order to help rural economists and sociologists in the search of historical checking about their workfield, during one of the main breaks in French history.
