Abstract

[eng] The present study deals with the financial situation of the holdings in the E.C. The purpose is to compare the Capital, the Profitability and the Resources of average holdings, issued from an ascendant classification. The data are extracted from the Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN). . The analysis contributes to differenciate : holdings with a high ratio of labour profitability, specialized in the crop productions in Northern Europe ; Danish farms, with a high level of total assets and financial difficulties ; holdings with animal products, having a high ratio of total assets to output ; extensive farm types in Ireland ; small holdings in Italy and Greece.
