Abstract
[eng] There is no evidence that the agricultural policy consisting in a concentration of the means of production and of the incomes which has been applied in France and in the European Community over the past twenty years, has been the most effective one. On the contrary, a simple simulation, using the results of the ERDEXA 1982 survey concerning farms of various sizes and with different specializations and economic situations, shows that an orientation of the means of farm production towards medium sized farms would enable us to balance individual incomes and overall employment. From a macro-economic viewpoint, and in a period of unemployment, this seems to lead to a much more rational use of public funds assigned to farm price supports.
