Abstract

[eng] It is often stated that a reduction lathe level of agricultural protection in the EEC would have favourable effects on LDCs. Specific research attempting to measure those effects of protection through market share analysis or with partial equilibrium models shows diverging results and can be criticized on various grounds. On the whole a reduction in EC protection would have limited positive effects on some LDCs and nil or negative effects on others. (Ed). [fre] II est généralement considéré qu'une réduction du niveau de protection de l'agriculture communautaire aurait des effets favorables sur les pays sous-développés (PSD). Mais quand on examine les recherches spécifiques essayant de mesurer les effets de cette protection soit par l'analyse des parts de marché soit par des modèles d'équilibre on constate que les résultats sont douteux et divergents. Dans l'ensemble, une baisse de la protection aurait des effets faiblement positifs sur certains PSD et nuls ou négatifs sur d'autres (Red.)
