Abstract

[eng] This study deals with the development of European life insurance markets. We insist on the reasons for this development through diversification of products and delivery networks. Because of the amounts concerned, insurance companies play a major role in transforming households’ savings. We then compare the asset allocations of insurance companies with those of pension funds. . JEL classifications : E21, G11
