Toutefois, il reste fortement concentré et dominé par des acteurs locaux. Il est également marqué par de fortes disparités régionales et une gamme de produits restreinte. Les restructurations n’ont pas épargné l’assurance dont l’État se désengage progressivement. Si l’arrivée des assureurs étrangers est possible depuis la signature des accords OMC, les opportunités d’investissement n’en restent pas moins étroites et fortement liées au développement économique, social et politique du pays. .
