Abstract

[fre] Si le volet marché unique de l'élargissement est à peu près identifié, sa composante monétaire demeure plus floue, qu'il s'agisse du calendrier envisageable, de la gestion des périodes transitoires ou des conséquences à en attendre pour l'euro. Après avoir abordé les conditions de l'accès des nouveaux pays membres à la zone euro, l'auteur évoque les implications de l'élargissement pour le taux de change de l'euro, son rôle international et la conduite de la politique monétaire dans la zone ainsi redéfinie. . Classification JEL : E52, F31, F36, P2 [eng] The enlargement and the Euro . The single market enlargement's aspect is now well known. But, the monetary aspects, such as the conceivable schedule, the transition management or the consequences for the Euro, remain vague. First, the author deals with accession conditions of new Euro zone's members. Then, he presents enlargement's impacts on the Euro exchange rate, its international currency's place and the monetary policy management for the whole Euro zone. .
