Abstract
[eng] Abstract The marriage settlements, signed before a notary in central Paris, in 1634 and 1637, processed with a database, allow us to understand better the structures of the population and her behaviour, regarding husband's and wife's choice. This contracts show that the first marriages are far more of them. The majority of the husband and wife live in Paris, but are not often born there. There is a geographic endogamy, on a city scale more than on a single parish scale. On the other way, the search of a social homogamy guides couples and their families, even if a pure professional homogamy affects particularly craftsmen, and also service and food professionals.
