Abstract

[eng] Abstract Presentation of a work about the recruitment of regulars (monks and nuns) examined in three dioceses for the first time. It proves the reality of their call (or vocation) by various examples confronted with many earthly contingencies and with the tests of noviciate. The observation of 4 109 monks ans nuns allows to see movements in admissions, to know their geographical, social, family origins and their modifications during two centuries. That settles the population of abbeys, convents and monasteries. A good observance as the choices of 1790 corroborate many monks' and all or almost all nuns' call.
