Abstract
[ger] Die auslandischen Direktinvestitionen in Osteuropa . [eng] Direct Foreign Investments in Eastern Europe . The call for foreign capital has swiftly appeared as a response to the lack of national financial resources for the creation of a new private sector (creation of private companies and privatization of part of the State-owned companies). Foreign investment in Eastern Europe has risen sharply in both value and quantity since 1 990. This increase has generated a certain amount of optimism. Yet the capital inflow is slowing down, while the sums concerned remain low.
