Abstract

[eng] Exacting days and quiet ones. Everyone has one 's own rhythm - The rate at which sleep, meals, professional or house work, personal care and entertainment, follow each other is not the same for a man and a woman, and for someone who is employed and someone who is not. . The working day of a self-employed worker, and particularly a farmer, is much longer than that of a wage-earner. Secondary school and university students have working days that are comparable to those of working people, since the time they spend studying is more or less equivalent to professional work. However they devote more time to entertainment. Cleaning, cooking, doing the dishes and the laundry, or shopping, keep housewives busy for most of the day. The retired spend a large part of the day doing household chores, but they also devote a lot of time to rest and entertainment. On week ends, people get up later, sit longer at the table for meals, watch more television in the afternoon, engage in leisure activities or devote more time to household chores.
