[eng] The French Economy in 1983 - In order to have a idea of the progress at half-way point of the Vllth Plan, the National Institute of Statistics (INSEE) has, with the help of its Dynamic Multi-Sectoral Model (DMS), made a projection of the state of the French economy in the future. In light of the supposed growth trends that were used, the projection study associates a lasting slowdown of growth, persistent inflation and employment difficulties for the future. But this perspective should not be considered as a fatal necessity : other hypotheses would have led to other results.
