Abstract

[fre] L'article suivant est extrait d'une importante étude due à M. Marcel Turon, sous- préfet, et intitulée : « Les Pétroles d'Aquitaine dans l'économie française ». . Après un examen géologique et un historique de la prospection, l'auteur étudie le régime juridique et financier des trois sociétés qui procèdent actuellement à la recherche des hydrocarbures dans le Midi de la France. Il expose ensuite le développement des forages et l'évolution des effectifs employés ainsi que les difficiles conditions de recrutement auxquelles les sociétés se sont trouvées aux prises. La production et le traitement du gaz font l'objet de deux chapitres qui montrent les progrès de l'extraction et le développement de la distribution. . En conclusion, il apparaît que si l'apport des pétroles d'Aquitaine est bien modeste si on la compare aux grandes sources de production mondiales, elle semble singulièrement appréciable, si on la rapporte à l'urgence et à la grandeur des besoins français.
