Abstract

Executive Board intends to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the foundation of a Czech professional economic journal by publishing in Volume 2003 articles that will deal with the history, development, peripeteias, twists and turns of Politická ekonomie. Issue No. 1 will be focused on the period 1953 - 1957. An article describing the history of Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences Economics Institute, which was inseparably tied up with the journal and vice versa, will appear thereafter. On the occasion of the anniversary Executive Board addressed many eyewitnesses, renowned contributors and prominent economists inviting them to write a short text Me and Politická ekonomie journal. It is a remarkable list of persons shaping the journal's face and imparting their knowledge to its character. Without them the Politická ekonomie could never be such purely professional journal destined for the economic community including University students of economic faculties.
