Análise de decomposição estrutural para o setor de saúde brasileiro – 2000-2005

Abstract

Este artigo faz uma Análise de Decomposição Estrutural – Structural Decomposition Analysis (SDA) – para o setor de saúde brasileiro no período 2000-2005. A decomposição realizada visa investigar quais os impactos das mudanças estruturais e de demanda final sobre a produção dos setores relacionados à Saúde no Brasil. Para atingir tal objetivo os dados utilizados foram as matrizes de insumo-produto (MIPs) elaboradas pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) para os anos de 2000 e 2005 compatibilizadas com as Contas Nacionais de saúde, também, divulgadas pelo IBGE. Os resultados mostraram que o componente de demanda final é relevante para explicar a variação da produção dos setores de saúde. Com relação à variação da inter e intradependência setorial, tornou-se nítida a existência de significativa disparidade entre os setores da economia brasileira. No que tange aos setores da saúde, os que mais se destacaram, com um aumento da interdependência setorial, foram assistência médica suplementar e fabricação de produtos farmacêuticos. Structural Decomposition analysis for the Brazilian Health sector: 2000 - 2005 :: In this article we implement a Structural Decomposition Analysis for the Brazilian health sector for the period 2000 to 2005, based on the input-output matrix calculated by IBGE. Our goal is to investigate the impact of changes in sectoral interdependence and in final demand on the Brazilian productive sectors, particularly those related to health care. Our results show that the final demand component is relevant to explain variation in the production of Health sectors. We also find that Brazilian sectors differ significantly with respect to variation in sectoral interdependence and intradependence. Finally, we identify Medical assistance and Manufacture of pharmaceuticals as the health sectors that showed the largest increase in sectoral interdependence.
