Fondurile europene, oportunitatea dezvoltarii durabile si inteligente a mediului urban

Abstract

Secolul XXI, caracterizat prin ample modificari tehnologice, a determinat schimbarea balantei in favoarea mediului urban. Astazi, aproximativ 75% din populatia Europei locuieste in zonele urbane, iar incepand cu 2020, se preconizeaza ca proportia va fi de 80%. Drept urmare, dezvoltarea oraselor pe orizontala, dar mai ales pe verticala, devine o problema acuta, regasita tot mai des pe prima pagina a agendei politice, intrucat aceasta extindere va conduce la reconturarea peisajelor si la cresterea presiunii asupra ecosistemelor zonelor limitrofe in urmatoarele decenii, ceea ce in final se va reflecta intr-o calitate scazuta a vietii. Prezenta lucrare isi propune sa evidentieze oportunitatile create de Uniunea Europeana prin intermediul instrumentelor structurale in favoarea unei dezvoltari durabile si inteligente a sistemelor urbane.
