Estrutura sectorial, estratégia competitiva e tecnologia na banca

Abstract

O propósito geral que anima o artigo é o de apresentar algumas questões e princípios gerais que devem estar presentes na perspectiva da gestão estratégica das instituições bancárias e da sua relação com os SI/TI. Após uma descrição do contexto competitivo fundamental do sector bancário (negócio bancário e forças competitivas) e da análise das estratégias disponíveis (cadeia de valor e estratégias genéricas), apresenta-se um modelo de gestão de SI/TI na banca. Alguns dos tópicos abordados («forças competitivas» e «sistemas de informação estratégicos») são concretizados utilizando para o efeito dados recolhidos para a realidade do sector bancário em Portugal. Nesta digressão recorre-se a aproximações empíricas distintas: o método de Delphi e inquéritos postais.
