Abstract

Automated guided vehicles’ application in production facilities increases continuously. As these vehicles count as the industrialized version of mobile robots, the later ones can be regarded as the future of industrial AGVs. One of the most important issue of mobile robots is sensors. Landbased mobile robots currently use sensors for general navigational purposes, identification and range finding. Current paper surveys mobile robots’ most common sensors pointing out a possible further development using a static camera.
