Teaching ESP through the Internet. Case Study

Abstract

This paper is studying the impact of the Internet on the ESP classroom, providing anintroduction to the basic theoretical aspects of this area, its development, benefits and drawbacks. The paper is also concerned with the most common applications of Internet-based activities, suchas communication, information retrieval, and information publishing. Internet access has broughtabout new virtual learning environments and consequently, new learning experiences for thestudents: they can attend lessons or sessions when they want, they can log on from differentlocations, and they are offered new opportunities for communication.
