Abstract

Small business management issues have long been ignored by management specialists. University studies related to the development stage of the strategic management have only emerged over the past decade as a new systematic approach of the small business management came into sight as regards this area of the economic agents. The individual contribution of a small business to assigning the economic situation of a nation is insignificant but the small businesses as a whole play a major role. In countries with a developed market economy, over 95 % of the total number of companies is represented by small and medium-sized undertakings. These involve approximately half of the number of employees in the whole economy and generate 80 % of the new employment. The creativity associated to these companies is comparable to that of large organizations.
