Abstract

For many people, the Internet of things represents the future of technology. The Internet will constitute the connective tissue which binds reality together, and will be easy to access for people, animals and even objects. The birth of technologies such as wireless sensors, nanotechnologies and intelligent labels has brought about a turning point in communication methods; both inside the organisation and production processes of many firms, and within the private spheres of individuals. Taking as a starting point the analysis of a key technology for the Internet of Things, RFId, the purpose of this study is to display the strengths and weaknesses of one of the most highly discussed technological innovations of the last decade; the digital passport.
