Communication and scientific productivity in the marine sciences

Abstract

This study examined basic research projects in marine science for key characteristics that influenced productivity. The most critical was communication and interaction between the members of the research community. Other factors, such as the principal investigator having a diversified background and experience, the length of time the project was funded and the multidisciplinary nature of the research, also contributed.
