Predicting the Effects of High-Lysine Corn on the Hog Economy

Abstract

Estimation of a supply and demand model of the hog economy is presented for analyzing the possible effects of high-lysine com. Changes in hog marketings and prices are predicted as a function of the feed cost savings resulting from the successful introduction of high-lysine corn.
