Beergame Reference Scenarios For Balanced Scorecard Evaluation, Highlighting Internal Perspective

Abstract

In the Szabo-Szoba R&D Laboratory in Gyõr we use the BeerGame software to demonstrate various supply chain management problems. We have developed this android application in order to have an adaptable, entertaining and effective program, which can provide real life experience to students and industrial partners about the nature of the bullwhip effect, inventory management challenges and create measurable results right away. For the most important part of our trainings and simulations - the discussion of outcomes and the team learning - we use the four (financial, customer, internal, innovation and learning) perspectives of Balanced Scorecard performance measurement system. As a part of our continuous research, in our paper we are focusing on the internal perspective to highlight the specialties of capacity utilization.
