Trumponomics 2.0: Lower Growth, Higher Inflation

Abstract

President-Elect Donald Trump's already announced government nominations demonstrate that he will deliver a radical agenda. What will this mean for the United States and global economy? In this paper, I look at the effects of the proposed tax cuts and spending efficiencies, the proposed tariff increases, the removal of illegal immigrants, and deregulation. I also consider the possible effects of a weakening in the independence of the Federal Reserve (Fed). I begin with an overview, which brings these policies together, before discussing each of them in more detail.
