Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Official Websites of Gminas. Are the Polish Rural and Urban-Rural Local Governments Prepared to Communicate with the Younger Generation - Digital Natives, Generation Y?

Abstract

The article takes a close look at the very current subject of online communication using modern and popular channels of interaction that can help build "small motherlands", particularly among young web2 users. Th e author focuses on the rarely addressed topic of using ICT in rural and urban-rural gminas3 to deal with the environment of local government, especially with the generation of "digital natives", the countryside "generation Y". In the article the communication preference of the named generations is indicated and the results of the tests for official services of gminas and profiles carried out by local authorities in the popular social networking site are presented. The author compares data obtained in different periods of research, which allows for the determination of trends in the use of tools of communication of the rural and urban-rural offices with young people.
