Über das partizipative Moment im Rahmen der Finanzierung öffentlicher Unternehmen

Abstract

In times of a strained financial and budget situation on local level municipalities will be continuously and increasingly challenged to search for innovative solutions to ensure the public service provision. This article analyses whether alternatives of financial public participation may contribute to solve this problem by stimulating civic engagement, supporting regional and environmental policy goals, and budgetary challenges at the same time. Particular attention is paid to forms of financial participation, which involve the citizens in the process of regional value creation and give them an extensive right to a say.
