Mythos Alfred Herrhausen. Ethische Positionierungen als Selbstverpflichtung oder Verbrämung von Gewinnzielen?

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the business policy of Alfred Herrhausen, chairman of the Board of Deutsche Bank between 1985 and 1989, and his activities as a political advisor against the background of his public statements on ethical issues. The result shows that in particular Herrhausen's efforts for a solution of the international sovereign debt crisis were based on moral maxims that anticipated significant parts of modern corporate social responsibility (CSR) concepts.
