Condition And Development Of The Sustainable Tourism In Prespa

Abstract

The tourism movements are primarily spatial phenomenon, while the tourism is dynamical factor for space activation and development. The Prespa region in Macedonia, with its specific characteristics of natural environment, historical and cultural heritage presents a potential territory for satisfying the tourism needs. Within this region there is an important difference among the potential, possible and realistic economic opportunities for tourism exploitation. The aim of this paper is to present the conditions for development of the sustainable tourism. The paper is based on empirical research, as well as the already available studies for tourism development. Also, the paper considers the natural and created values for tourism development and it mirrors its current condition. In addition, analysis for the advantages and disadvantages for this development are carried out.
