Abstract

Tourism is a new social-economic phenomenon and it is a reasonable consequence of the establishment of the modern forms and mechanisms of social relations. The knowledge of tourism is a result, as well as an expression of objective human necessities. The affirming of tourism and the increase of its role in the social relations provoked the development of science for this phenomenon, and in parallel with it produced the establishment of a system for training and education of human resources for the needs of the tourism industry. In the recent several years, the problem of insufficiency of qualified human resources for the sector of tourism becomes more and more pressing. This determines also the aim of the present research: through an analysis of the achievement of the tourism science and the related to it system of training and educating of human resources to determine the major directions for their future development in the Republic of Bulgaria in the context of the European experience.
