Actual Problems And Future Challenges For The Sustainable Development Of Forests And The Forestry

Abstract

In the concept for sustainable development, forestry becomes one of the most important human activities on Earth. This makes the defining of the actual problems an extremely important issue such as the future challenges for the development of forestry and the forests. According to the regulations of the conception for sustainable development, they are summarized on global, regional - for Europe and local - for Bulgaria level. The strategy for sustainable development of the forests and the forestry requires flexible and semi-adjusting institutional framework for administrating the sector. It should include: effective participation of the citizens in the decision making process; economic conditions for the production of a enough product and high technological Know - How; production activity accordingly the economical requirements; stability of the financial and market structure; mechanisms capable of softening the social pressures resulting from the unharmonious development.
