Discontinue et fragmentée ? Un état des lieux de l’histoire sociale de la France contemporaine

Since the 1980s, social history has ceased to be a clear label, it has become increasingly fragmented and discontinuous with the collapse of previous paradigms and the bursting of the objects. Moreover, « social history » is very difficult to define because of the multiple meanings of the term « social ». Through a brief overview of the social history of contemporary France as it is practiced, we will try to highlight some recent developments in evoking particular attention to the actors and constructivism, new ways to study and to categorize the social world, or the growing interest in new objects such as the environment, technology and law .
